Can the Silver Screen inspire leaders to be more courageous?
Submitted by Peter Dean, Ph.D.
Art often can give insight long before other mediums in society. Even reality seems to follow the silver screen sometimes – think Wall Street (1987) and some of the headliners of this past year…

Movies can so powerfully portray people behaving badly or unethically or, on the other hand, people demonstrating courage in their leadership roles. Movies such as Gettysburg or Remember the Titans have incredibly moving leaders that I, for one, find very inspiring. Or, who hasn’t watched a scene from The Office and laughed out loud at some of the ridiculous “leadership tactics”? It’s amazing how art can move an audience, isn’t it?
What movies have inspired you? How so?
In particular, what scenes have been most memorable?
