Walter Slade is a Senior Consultant at The Leader’s Edge and an experienced executive coach. He is passionate about helping leaders to identify, understand and work through roadblocks that prevent them from being their best self and doing their best work.
Walter’s openness, non-judgmental style, and ability to quickly develop trusting and accountability-based relationships helped to make him an effective leader in three global businesses and now as a coach and Human Resources consultant. Walter is known as a trusted partner who listens as an ally and helps clients think and act strategically as a leader.
Walter has more than thirty years of experience in coaching, advising, and collaborating with leaders, teams, and individual contributors in various organizations, such as: Air Canada, Amazon, AstraZeneca, Centene, Corning, Digital Equipment Corporation, Merck, Molina Healthcare, NJM Insurance Group, Pfizer, Sanofi, Synchrony Financial, The Nature Conservancy, Travelers, UnitedHealth Group, Urban League, Verizon, Walmart and Western Union.
His last corporate role was Executive Director for Culture and Change for Merck & Co, Inc. In this role he was privileged to lead, implement, and manage an initiative to instill and sustain an inclusion and coaching mindset and behaviors for 30,000 global employees.
Walter earned his B.A. from Drew University in New Jersey. He is an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and SHRM-Certified Senior Human Resources Professional.
He currently serves as Director DEIB for the New Jersey Chapter of ICF and Co-Chair for Somerset County Business Partnership’s Minority Business Leaders Roundtable.
